These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the UniPass desktop application, browser extension, and optional sync service (together, the "Service"), provided by 上海洛克斯网络科技有限公司 ("we", "us"). By installing or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
UniPass is a local-first, zero-knowledge password manager. Your vault is encrypted on your device. Cloud sync is optional and, when enabled, stores only end-to-end encrypted ciphertext. See our Privacy Policy for details on data handling.
2. Your master password and Secret Key
Your master password is never sent to us and cannot be recovered by us. Because the Service is zero-knowledge, we have no ability to disclose your existing master password or decrypt your vault on your behalf. If you enabled a Recovery Code before losing access, you can use it to set a new master password and Secret Key while preserving the encrypted vault. We cannot retrieve the Recovery Code for you.
If you do not have a valid Recovery Code, the email reset option creates a new encryption identity and permanently deletes the previous encrypted vault and related server-side data. This destructive reset is not data recovery and cannot be reversed by you, UniPass, or support.
3. Your responsibilities
- Keep your devices, master password, and Secret Key secure.
- Maintain your own backups of important data where appropriate.
- Use the Service only for lawful purposes and in compliance with applicable law.
- Do not attempt to disrupt, reverse the security of, or gain unauthorized access to the sync service or other users' data.
4. Beta software
The Service may be provided as beta or pre-release software. It may contain bugs and is subject to change. Features may be added, modified, or removed at any time.
5. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure against every possible threat.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the Service — including data loss resulting from a forgotten master password, lost recovery material, or a confirmed destructive email reset.
7. Intellectual property
The UniPass name, logo, and software are owned by us or our licensors. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our trademarks without prior written permission.
8. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your local data and, if applicable, your sync account. We may suspend or terminate the sync service for any account that violates these Terms or applicable law.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the project's release notes or this page. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

Proposed subscription terms (for commercial launch)
Personal is proposed at US$2.99 per month or US$23.88 per year, before tax. Annual billing charges US$23.88 at once, equivalent to US$1.99 per month and about 33% less than 12 monthly payments. Both intervals provide the same features. Currency, applicable taxes, the total charge and renewal interval will be shown before checkout, with tax-inclusive display where required. See the pricing page for platform and storage limits. Purchasing is not available yet.
The 14-day trial requires no card and does not convert into a charge. After an explicit purchase, subscriptions renew monthly or annually according to the selected billing interval until canceled. Cancel through the subscription-management link in your payment receipt; access continues until the paid period ends. A full refund may be requested within 14 calendar days of the first payment and each renewal under the draft refund policy.
A refund ends paid cloud benefits. Expiry or refund does not lock local viewing, editing or export. Existing cloud data remains available to retrieve for at least 180 days, unless you request deletion. Existing Beta cloud users are proposed to receive a 90-day transition with at least 30 days of advance notice. Future price changes will be notified in advance and will not retroactively change a paid period.
Paddle is the planned Merchant of Record for website subscriptions, subject to approval, integration and checkout terms. The UniPass service is provided by 上海洛克斯网络科技有限公司. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
